Neha Karve, Writer and Editor

Neha is wearing a lavender high-neck sweater. She has short hair and is smiling into the camera.

Neha enjoys editing almost as much as she likes reading. She also writes in her free time and is currently working on the never-ending draft of her circular novel. She travels as much as life allows and likes nothing better than sitting on an unfamiliar bench, sipping on tea, reading a good book.

Experience

Neha is an academic, business, and nonfiction editor. She edits content written in both US and UK English and is an expert on various writing and publishing styles (AP, APA, Chicago, MLA, Oxford). She has editing experience of 14 years, working at corporate firms, then with editing agencies, and now running her own editing service. Follow her on Twitter and LinkedIn (though you should know that as an introvert, she doesn’t post nearly as often as she should).

Education

Neha has studied science, philosophy, English literature, and a host of other practical but uninteresting subjects. She has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a master’s in finance. After a few years working as an analyst under bright white lights, she realized all she wanted to do was work with the written word. She has been an editor ever since, writing in her spare time.

A quick hello

Hi, I’m Neha. I originally created the Editor’s Manual to help fellow editors make faster editing decisions, but have since included language resources for writers of all guilds. I hope you enjoy browsing this website and find articles you can save for future reference. If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions, or if there is a topic you would like to see covered in the Editor’s Manual, write to me at neha@editorsmanual.com. I love email for breakfast.
